Biography
Weston Twardowski started acting at age 5, in Ceaderwood Elementary’ school plays. Weston has also appeared in almost every school play since the first grade. Weston tried out for St. Tammany Parish Talented Theatre when he was 10, and was accepted with flying colors. Weston has performed in eight shows through talented theatre, including Abridged MacBeth as MacBeth and Three Wishes (as done in Commedia Del Arte).
However Weston has of course done shows outside of school. He started to branch out as early as the fourth grade when he played the Artful Dodger in OLIVER! at Southeastern Louisiana
University. Since then he has also appeared in many other productions at local theater’s including: Jay in Skyfire Theater’s production of Lost in Yonkers, Ebenezer Scrooge in NorthStar theater’s production of A Christmas Carol, and Albert Einstein Minicapellis Dinner Theater’s production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile.
Weston has been particularly active in Playmakers Theater for the last year. He was in the 50th anniversary show- The Barn- as the Beast, and the understudy for Stanley Kowalski. He was also in Playmakers production of The Foreigner, as Ellard Simms. Finally he ended their season reviving his role of Dodger in Playmakers OLIVER! Weston’s hard work paid off though, as this year he was appointed to the Board of Director’s as the Youth Advisor/Council Leader- the youngest member of the board ever.
Weston believes that theatre can be the greatest tool for education and is easily the most fun. Therefore he has made it a personal goal to educate people through theatre. Over past three summers he has worked at Frank Levy’s Summer Theatre Camps. This summer he was named the Senior Counselor and Assistant Director of the Camp. He also worked as a Counselor and Jr. Director at the Greater Covington Center’s production of A Midsummer Day Dream.
Weston has earned a few awards over the years. These include winning BRAVO! TV’s On With the Show: On Broadway! workshop competition. This workshop allowed him to go to New York to work with Broadway professionals and put on a show at the Imperial Theatre on Broadway.
In 2007 he won first place at the New Orleans regional level of the English Speaking Union’s National Shakespeare contest
Additionally he was named the Talented Theatre Student of the Year at his Junior High School for seventh grade. The Fontainebleau Jr. High School stage was named in his honor in 2006.
